Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 September 2026 · Operated by TP Studios India
This policy explains what information the ShoppingLite website (shoppinglite.in) and the ShoppingLite Android app on Google Play collect, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it. ShoppingLite is operated by TP Studios India (“we”, “us”). For any question or request about your information, write to support@shoppinglite.in.
In short
- You can use most of ShoppingLite without an account.
- Files you make with the Tools — resumes, biodata, cover letters, passport photos, scans, signatures, PDFs and images — are made on your phone. We do not upload your photos or documents to our servers.
- Payments for the Tools are made through Google Play. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.
- We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.
- You can delete your account from inside the app, or by writing to us.
1. Information we collect
Account information (optional)
If you create an account, we keep your name, email address and, when you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares (name, email address and profile photo). Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; if you choose an email and password, your password is handled by Firebase and we never receive it in readable form. Your profile is stored with Google Firebase and as an account record on our server.
Purchases in the Tools
Some Tools offer a one-time purchase to save a file without the ShoppingLite watermark, and a “Tools Pro” monthly subscription. Both are bought and paid for through Google Play under Google’s terms and privacy policy. To confirm a purchase and give you access, we receive from Google and keep: the product, the order number, the purchase date, for subscriptions the current period’s end date and whether it renews, cancelled or refunded status, the price and currency, whether it was a test purchase, and Google’s purchase token (stored encrypted). A purchase is linked to your account through a random reference, not your name or email. We never receive your card, UPI, bank or other payment details.
What you make with the Tools
- Made on your phone. Resumes, cover letters, biodata, passport photos, background removal, document scans, signatures, image and PDF conversions are created and processed on your device. The photos and documents you use, and the files you save, are not uploaded to our servers.
- On-device recognition. Passport Photo Maker, Background Remover and Document Scanner use Google’s ML Kit through Google Play services for face detection, separating the subject from the background, finding page edges and reading text. This runs on your phone: your photos, scanned pages and the text read from them are not sent to Google or to us. ML Kit does send Google limited diagnostic information — such as your device model, Android version, the app’s version, performance and error information, and an identifier for the installation — which Google uses to run and improve ML Kit.
- Stored on your phone. The details you type into the Resume, Cover Letter and Biodata makers, and the list in “My Creations”, stay on your phone. They are removed if you clear the app’s data or uninstall it; files you saved to Downloads or Pictures stay until you delete them.
- Save records. When you save a file from a Tool that can carry a watermark, the app asks our server whether to add it. We record the Tool, a random identifier for that file (not its contents or name), whether it was saved with or without the watermark, your device identifier and, if you are signed in, your account.
Device and usage information
Collected automatically when you use the app or the website:
- Device information — device model, manufacturer, Android version, app version, and an identifier the app generates to recognise the same installation.
- Usage information — screens and sections opened, searches made in the app, deals, stores and links opened, which Tools are used and whether a save succeeded, and which screen is open while the app is in use (for counting people using the app right now).
- Approximate location — a city or region estimate worked out from your IP address. IP addresses are kept only in hashed or partly masked form, not as full addresses.
- Technical and security information — pages and requests made, their time, referring page, and browser or app version; blocked or suspicious requests are recorded to protect the service.
- Crash information — when the app stops unexpectedly: the error, where it happened, device model and app version. Crashes are reported to our server and to Google Firebase Crashlytics.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — the app includes Google’s analytics, which automatically collects an app-instance identifier, device information and events such as app opens and screens viewed.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app registers with OneSignal, which delivers our push notifications using a notification token and basic device information. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s settings for the app.
Shared links
If you install the app from a link someone shared, Google Play tells the app which link it was, so the app can open the shared item the first time it starts.
Messages to us
If you email us or use the contact page, we keep your message, your email address and our reply.
What the app does not do
- It does not access your precise location, contacts, call logs, SMS or microphone.
- It does not use the camera itself: when you take a photo or scan a page, your camera app or Google’s document scanner takes it and hands the result to ShoppingLite, only when you choose to.
- Voice search uses your phone’s own speech-recognition service (for example Google’s), which returns the recognised text to the app.
- It does not use your advertising ID and does not show third-party ads.
2. How we use information
- To provide the website and the app, including the Tools, radio, TV and news sections.
- To verify purchases with Google Play, give you what you paid for, restore it on a new phone, and remove it when a purchase is refunded.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse, including fake or reused purchases.
- To understand which features are useful, and to find and fix crashes and errors.
- To send notifications you agreed to receive.
- To measure whether an affiliate link was opened, which is how the free service is funded.
- To answer your messages and requests, and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
3. Affiliate links and third-party content
ShoppingLite links to retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart, and some of those links are affiliate links. When you open one, the retailer or affiliate network may set cookies or add tracking details so a resulting purchase can be credited to us; they handle that under their own privacy policies. We record that a link was opened. We do not receive your payment details or personal information about what you bought. Radio stations, TV channels and news sources you open are provided by their own publishers, who receive your IP address and device details when they stream to you.
4. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with these service providers, to the extent they need it to run ShoppingLite for us, and when the law requires it:
- Google — Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Storage (accounts), Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play (app distribution, payments and purchase verification) and Google Play services (including ML Kit).
- OneSignal — push notification delivery.
- Hostinger — hosting for this website, our server and its database.
- Retailers and affiliate networks — when you open their links, as described above.
These providers may process information in countries other than India, under their own security and privacy commitments.
5. How long we keep information
- Account information — until you delete your account.
- Purchase records — kept after you delete your account where we need them for accounting, tax, handling refunds and preventing fraud. When you delete your account, they are no longer linked to your name or email.
- Server request logs — deleted after about 30 days.
- Live-activity records (who is using the app right now) — deleted after 30 days.
- Security logs — deleted after 90 days.
- Usage analytics, crash reports, save records and messages — kept while they are needed to run and improve the service. You can ask us to delete those linked to you.
- Google Firebase and OneSignal — keep data according to their own retention settings.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a summary of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct, complete or erase it, withdraw consent you have given, and raise a grievance with us. Write to support@shoppinglite.in from the email address linked to your account. We will respond as soon as we can, and within the time applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, requires.
- Notifications — turn them off in your phone’s settings for the app.
- Subscriptions — manage or cancel Tools Pro in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google Play.
- Files and app data — delete files from Downloads or Pictures, or clear the app’s data or uninstall the app to remove what is stored on your phone.
7. Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile → Delete account. Or email support@shoppinglite.in from your account’s email address with the subject “Delete my account” — step-by-step instructions are on the Delete your account page. When an account is deleted:
- your profile, name, email address and profile photo are deleted from our server and from Google Firebase, and you are signed out on every device;
- purchase records are kept without your name or email, for the reasons in section 5;
- a Tools Pro subscription is not cancelled automatically — cancel it in Google Play first, or it will keep renewing.
8. Security
Connections to the ShoppingLite website and server use HTTPS. Purchase tokens are stored encrypted, passwords are never stored in readable form, and access to our systems is limited to authorised administrators. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to fix problems quickly.
9. Children
ShoppingLite is a general-audience service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Anyone under 18 should use ShoppingLite, create an account or make purchases only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to support@shoppinglite.in and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Please check it from time to time.
